Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I wrote up a review to help the student study for her final exam tomorrow. We focused on simplifying expressions with variables and exponents."
"We focused on reviewing her calc problems from her study guide. We also worked on a few problems from the review book. She mentioned not feeling comfortable with graphs of functions and their derivatives so we spent the last half of the session going over function behaviors and its derivatives and graphs of critical points in preparation for her final."
"This was our first session and we focused on topics that will be covered on her test tomorrow. This primarily involved going over normal distributions, the central limit theorem and the difference between analyzing parameters and statistics. We went over her review notes as well as some homework questions she had over these topics. She was able to quickly pick up the concepts easily and apply them to the review questions."
"The student and I used potion recipe cards to add fractions and decimals. We practiced changing fractions into decimals and vice versa, including mixed numbers and improper fractions. Then she spent time on her homework finding the largest and smallest fraction from five choices."
"We discussed customary unit conversions, utilizing different methods of intuition, and setting up proportions and cross multiplying as a general formulaic approach to all types of conversion questions. The student seems to have a solid grasp on the material. We worked through the questions she got wrong on an old test. She is extremely pleasant to work with."
"We reviewed a test that the student recently got back and went over the problems that he got wrong. We also worked on those problems that he did not fully understand. He is quite eager to learn and is proud of himself for improving his grade. We also did some work solving different types of equations where there is more than one solution."
