"We worked on creating flashcards for the student's Spanish vocabulary. Then we did his chemistry review for an upcoming test. He had to re-watch some notes videos to fill in his answers."
"The student is currently on the chapter that deals with medical vocabulary, reviewing the differences between ser and estar and direct and indirect object pronouns. We focused on practicing using the verbs "ser" and "estar". The student seems to grasp the difference between the two, but sometimes had difficulty discerning which one to use in context. After a few exercises, however, he began to improve his ability to distinguish the appropriate verb. Additionally, after completing a few of the exercises, he began to improve his conjugations of the verbs into the proper form (yo, tu, el/ella/ud, nosotros, vosotros, uds). I suggested that he keep working on conjugating verbs to improve his ability to naturally produce the correct form."
"In this, our 5th lesson, we began assessing our April Goals. She demonstrated Mastery of all of our targets including 7 question words (como?, que?, etc.). Those goals were: 1) the ability to recite and say letters and sounds of the alphabet; 2) saying #s1-100; 3) learning days of the week and months of the year along with key words like today, tomorrow, etc.; 4) memorizing initial conversational phrases (Como estas?/Que tal?, etc.); and 5) 45 of the 67 Industrial Oil terms she'd designated - our goal had only been 40. We completed the book passage assignment verbally (successfully) pertaining to last week's dialogue. We went on to a brief review of Familiar and Formal Greetings and she learned how to conjugate "Ser." This was followed up with an exercise. She's been assigned Actividades 11 y 12. We ended by formulating May Goals: 1) Memorize the Pledge of Allegiance; 2) Read and Translate 2 easy Spanish books; 3) Learn to express mathematical functions using #s and terms learned in April; 4) Learn to conjugate the verbs "Ser" y "Gustar" in Present Tense; and finally 5) Research 5 or more of the remaining 22 Oil Industry terms. I believe she will continue to experience rapid improvements if she continues to keep up with her level of interest"
