Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We read the assigned chapter and discussed the assessment questions. The student had some difficulty with some of the concepts at first, but seemed to get them as we continued to go over them. When we had finished that, we reviewed the material we had read last week and went over some of the questions she had missed on her earlier exam."
"We discussed ANOVA, F-test, Chi-square, Fisher's test, McNemar's test and OR. The student needed help with when to use certain tests vs others. We talked about that for quite awhile, and she was feeling more comfortable with it. She scored 105/100 on her last quiz (bonus question)."
"Today, the student and I worked on equilibrium reactions and ICE tables. She was optimistic. She received an 87 on her first test, which wasn't bad, though we will definitely be seeing improvement on the next test."
"The student is very good at chemistry - he's trying to build the intuition required for thermo. We covered the reason between integral v. delta (reversible v. irreversible) in state functions and we went over Kirchhoff's law and why the delta there refers to a change in state (reactants -> product)."
"The student and I worked on some very difficult problems dealing with rotational kinetic energy and rotational momentum. Some of them were quite difficult , but she kept her attitude positive and did really well solving the problems!"
"We reviewed the work we did last time on free-body diagrams and Newton's second law. We looked at momentum problems discussing when to use impulse-momentum and when to use conservation of momentum. One problem had the collision in front of a spring so that we used conservation of energy. It is a pleasure to work with this student. He is interested and interesting. We go over concepts and then he applies them."
