Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has finished her first semester, but she said the final for AP Biology was quite difficult. She is worried about the exam coming at the end of the year, so we decided to review some core concepts from the first semester that she was not so certain about. We covered some basic organic chemistry that is needed to understand metabolism and the organic chemistry nomenclature. She still needs sit down and memorize a few chemical structures, but after understanding the naming system, she feels more confident in breaking down the long names into parts and actually understanding what each part means."
"We went over isotopes and radioactivity. The next step is to prepare her for her midterm exams when back from break."
"This was my first session with the student, and also the first day that he was back in class after winter vacation. Because of his school's scheduling, he had not yet gotten back to chemistry, so we used this session to make sure that previous concepts were solidified. The main things we focused in on were Ideal Gas Law, use of stoichiometry, and Dalton's law of partial pressures. He was hazy at first with some of these, but he picked them up very quickly, and found them quite easy. I'm eager to see what his class covers next so we can move to newer material."
