Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has come so far this semester, and I couldn't be more proud and excited for her! Tonight, we started working on her ELA final project, which has her complete 10 various assignments related to poetry. Together, we reviewed three. She is very comfortable with the material, and the only term she was unfamiliar with was "couplet." After we did those, we moved onto social studies, since her teacher asked her to find out about Jimmy Carter. We used her textbook, and the student read out loud from the section that included Jimmy Carter. While and after she read, I asked her questions to check for comprehension. Depending on how her project goes, tonight could possibly be my last session with the student. She has come so far, and I'm excited to know that she will not be retained. What I loved most though was that the student now loves to learn, which is absolutely wonderful!"
"The student and I reviewed two lessons in his social studies textbook the detailed the Louisiana Purchase and Lewis and Clark expedition as well as the general migration of the American people to the West Coast. After reading and reviewing the lessons, he summarized the material and started a journal entry. We finished the session by reviewing the definitions and spellings of his vocabulary words."
"The focus of this session was to help the student prepare for the assessment exam. We reviewed what she needed to know for the test using questioning cards and completed a practice test. The session went very well and the student said she felt very prepared for her exam."
