Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on his homework from this week, and he seemed to understand the concepts we worked on together. He struggles to remember concepts, but I hope the extra practice and step-by-step directions will help him."
"For Student 1, I had her practice her math facts (multiplication and division) up to 12s. With Student 2, we worked on his word problems. It went well and Student 2 said the tutoring is helping him understand the material better."
"The student was having a difficult time writing inequalities (equations with greater than and less than symbols) from word format. More often than not, he would flip flop the symbols and not know how to correctly solve for the unknown variable. Towards the end of our session he made significant progress, but he didn't master the material. We'll work more on this in future sessions."
"Today we went over the test that the student took for Spanish which he did very well on. We then covered the next lesson in Spanish which focused on vocabulary words regarding the home (furniture, rooms, appliances, etc.). After the Spanish lesson we moved onto Algebra where we covered prime factorization of polynomials."
"We reviewed for his test on Thursday in Calculus. We went over limits, mean value theorem, squeeze theorem, continuity, and just about anything else you can think of in calculus before you get to derivatives. We'll be going over derivatives this Thursday after his test. We spent extra time talking to make sure he got everything."
"Today we tried to have real conversation (without scripts) for the second dialog in Chapter 1; also practiced the first dialog to make the conversation flow. We then did the sentence practices together and reviewed some important phrases, and went through the chapter practice in the textbook."
