Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has just begun her week on genetics. We began by discussing alleles, genotype and phenotype, dominant genes, recessive genes, homozygous dominant and recessive, and heterozygotes. We discussed a few Punnett square configurations for Mendelian genetics. We then looked into incomplete dominance and co-dominance. Lastly we finished reviewing her work packet; we discussed family trees and homozygous recessive back-crosses to determine unknown genotypes."
"In this session, we concentrated on studying for a quiz that the student has this week. We worked through chromosome structure and Karyotypes, which involved memorizing several different genetic diseases, and we also reviewed Mendelian genetics, which the student seems to have a very firm grasp of now."
"We went over a practice exam for test 1. It included topics on proteins, enzymes, cellular metabolism, organelles, ions, covalent bonds, hydrogen bonds, DNA synthesis, and prokaryotes vs. eukaryotes. The student has a great attitude towards the material. We talked about possible test questions to anticipate. I am writing up a study guide for her."
