Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session we covered stoichiometry and percent composition. This began with us addressing what the quantity of a mole actually is. Then I used example problems to test the student's understanding of the material. After several discussions about the mistakes in each problem it seemed like the student's understanding had significantly improved. For the next session, I asked the student to tackle a couple of problems on her own, and start brushing up on the different reaction types."
"We covered solubility rules and how to write out balanced equations and net ionic equations. At the beginning, she did not really understand what to do. By the end of the session, she fully grasped the material. She has her own practice worksheets. Overall, the session went great."
"We accomplished a lot today. We went over water treatment plants, primary sewage treatment, secondary sewage treatment, water pollution in the oceans, non point vs point source pollution, eutrophication, and watersheds. We also reviewed ecology terms of primary and secondary and succession, resource partitioning, and abiotic versus biotic factors. The student continued working on the assessment questions. He seemed much more engaged with the material today. I think he is getting a good grasp on the material."
