Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on the ideas behind how to convert various equations for lines to and from standard, point slope and pint intercept form in addition to working on reducing fractions for ease of cross multiplication. Another student and I spent our time working mostly on physics. We worked through how to convert linear elements to rotational analogs, i.e. velocity to omega or radians/sec. She is prepped for her test come this Wednesday. We also spent sometime going over how to graph certain equations in polar coordinate planes."
"The student and I worked on reviewing for his final exam. I created practice problems for him to work on that were consistent to his practice exam."
"We finished up clarifications on the problems we worked through yesterday and then worked on logs. Two really good sessions."
"The student wanted to review hypothesis testing. He especially had issues with proportion problems. We reviewed standard deviation of sample proportion and worked through some online review problems his professor had posted. The student feels much better about his upcoming test."
"The student wants to keep his A in statistics, and he is a dedicated and very hard worker. We reviewed some of his math skills, specifically in MS Excel, to stay ahead of the class."
"Covered null hypothesis (fail to reject or reject), student t, Chi squared distribution, alpha accept / reject region and bivariate populations. She still struggles with the math portion of statistics as we continue to stress the understanding of the concepts and how they are applied. Next week we will cover past quizzes and problem sets to test her understanding of the material."
