Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student's math class has not covered any new material but he had a Spanish quiz coming up so we reviewed the vocabulary and conjugating verbs. The class has an online study program with flashcards and games to help with studying and he did relatively well on the flashcards, while also setting aside the words he missed to study later. I am seeing serious improvement with conjugation, and while we reviewed the basics for preterite and imperfect verb conjugation, it seems he has a firm grasp on the concept."
"We covered familiar commands and reviewed vocabulary. The student seemed to grasp the new lesson very quickly. Her Spanish skills are greatly improving!"
"We went over indirect object pronouns, direct object pronouns, and situations in which they are used in conjunction with one another. It was a good session."
"We reviewed previously learned vocabulary. We continued studying physical descriptions, this time including eye color and hair color and type. We applied new vocabulary to describe family members, and people in the community (neighbor, teacher, etc.). We used the verbs ser and tener to describe oneself and others. The student is doing great! She is understanding a lot more when I speak in Spanish and is expanding her vocabulary."
"We reviewed conjugating regular -ar verbs, ser and estar. We learned regular -er and -ir verbs, as well as tener and ir. I also gave the student some vocabulary lists for colors and time words. We practiced translating sentences from English and Spanish. Right now, he just needs to focus on memorizing basic verb conjugations and learning new vocabulary. His pronunciation is getting better during every session, though he needs to work on making all the correct vowel sounds and where to put the stress in longer words."
"Today we covered present progressive gerund forms for regular, stem-changing, and irregular verbs. The student did very well and progressed quickly. He will be completing his workbook chapters on the preterit tense for next week."
