Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I finished with similar triangles and began working on circles. Some of the properties of chords are very difficult, but the student, again, is doing a nice job with them."
"We discussed the student's homework in Geometry focusing on the Pythagorean Theorem. She did not seem to struggle with any work."
"We did about an hour of quiz review today and we also did an hour of midterm preparation. The midterm is next Wednesday. Her quiz tomorrow covers proportions and ratios, similar polygons, and similar triangles. We walked through the sections together, reviewing all of the theorems and different examples she could see on her quiz. I was happy with how she was able to solve the practice problems we completed together. None of the material seemed to give her trouble. She was prepared to take it today so instead we got an extra day's worth of review. The student completed the mid chapter test and did not indicate any difficulties there either. Her overall skills seem to really be improving. She is quicker at solving problems and her algebra has improved. She is also improving at catching her own mistakes. I stressed the importance of checking over her work on quizzes and tests. The second half of the session was dedicated to midterm review, which covers all of the material from the beginning of the year until now. The teacher assigned them a bunch of problems in the textbook to complete for review. We finished about half of them today. The student is going to continue to work on them and we are going to meet next Tuesday for another review session before her midterm."
"The student and I worked on basic probability concepts (Geometry) as well as Lewis dot structures and VSEPR theory (Chemistry)."
"Today we finished reviewing for the student's exam. I left him with plenty of worksheets, problems, and theorems to work on."
"After taking a quiz on week one's material, the student worked on triangles and theorems involving angles and congruency. She completed problems in the various sections and I assigned her problems."
