Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student had homework on the distributive property. We did many problems to get him acquainted with the topic"
"We focused primarily on factoring and solving quadratic equations based on factoring or using the quadratic formula."
"The student and I went over her chapter reviews covering inverses, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, and radical functions."
"The student and I worked very hard to clear up some of her misconceptions about fractions during our session since she had a quiz the next day. She was very fluent in identifying and creating equivalent fractions, but struggled when it came to creating and using a number line in regards to fractions. What is difficult for her is separating the number line into the equally sized portions. I spoke with her father about this problem since he was going to work with her later in the day for further practice before her quiz."
"The student has a test on patterns and counting so we did a lesson with money to practice (monopoly money). She counted by fives and made her own number line (same with 2's, 3's, and 10's). She went back and forth and made addition problems that we practiced patterns on, which she did pretty well with. Then she did number line practice with skip counting and did well."
"We reviewed sequence of events using multiple stories taken from the Reading program. The student was then given a mini assessment based on the above standard as well as context clues. He scored a 100%."
