Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through limits and derivatives. The student is good with derivatives of functions, but is still struggling with conceptually understanding what they mean. We will go through some homework problems on the next sessions and I will send him some study material during the weekend."
"Today we finished a review of the essential prerequisites for a discussion of Limits, the first concept in Calculus. Reviewed solving quadratic equations"
"At the start the student and I reviewed basic algebraic manipulations and the basic line equations then proceeded to do 2 of her 3 homework problems which are practical business applications. I noticed that she is slowly getting more comfortable with the equations."
"Today the student and I covered the material that is on her next homework assignment. She made a high C on her first exam, but we didn't have the actual exam to review today. She mainly seemed to struggle with application problems, but she's a very good student and works hard outside of class and tutoring."
"In this lesson, the student and I worked a lot on limits. We worked through many practice problems, and began classifying different types of limits problems and the procedure for each. I think the most challenging aspect is the algebra involved. We made a list of algebraic concepts that he should review such as factoring, multiplying by the conjugate, and common denominators with polynomials."
"The student is still working on applications of the derivative and solving derivatives using the chain, product and quotient rules. He had a homework assignment that we were able to work on. He is comfortable with the calculus portion, so we focused mostly on reviewing the algebraic techniques that are required for solving the problems."
