Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed strategies for reading comprehension and science, as well as touched on essay writing. It would be very helpful if he practiced writing two essays before our next session on the 25th."
"The first half of the session was spent getting up to speed on the student's World Civ curriculum, discussing her teacher's expectations, and coming up with strategies on studying for a multiple choice social studies test. The second half of our session focused on composing a research paper, which the student must complete this semester. We worked on developing a strong thesis, and relating sources as evidence."
"The student and I reviewed his most recent practice test and discussed overall strategies for increasing his score on the verbal arguments section. We figured out that he tends to error on the side of specificity when answering "main idea" questions, so I advised him to keep that in mind and try to select broader answers."
"Worked on several reading comp problems. He sailed thru the non-science passages with straightforward structure."
"Today we went over stoichiometry. After reviewing some problems I definitely say improvement he understood it a little better but still had trouble understanding when you use what. I think by doing a few more questions he'll be able to master it. Our next session is Sunday at 2pm. I'm going to bring some problems to work on and take it from there."
"Today we covered the following vocab: hair and eye colors and emotions. We also reviewed the terms ser/estar, ir, gustar, and tener."
