Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on her geometry homework in preparation for a test she has on Thursday. She also studies for her English and History tests on Wednesday. We talked about focusing more on Eng and Hist during the 4th quarter to help bring her grades up and to work on her study skills, vocabulary, and reading abilities."
"The student has a test tomorrow on proofs so we just reviewed for that. His teacher provided some worksheets as study material, so we went through each of those and did all the problems. The proofs involved proving two triangles are congruent using ASA, SSS, AAS, SAS, and HL. We learned to set these up using alternate interior or exterior angles with parallel lines."
"The student started working on circles in class and so we worked on his homework. After we finished his homework, we did one of the practice geometry tests. He went through the whole thing with only 1 or 2 prompts from me. He did great work today."
"The student and I first spent a little time on his chemistry homework, which involved stoichiometry of neutralization reactions. He had a very good grasp of the material and only had a few minor questions. The rest of the session we spent on the review for his geometry quiz, which concerned circles."
"We discussed concepts in geometry, including tangents, secants, chords, arcs, inscribed angles, etc. We applied these concepts to problems in a review packet as well as to additional problems of increased difficulty."
"The student and I reviewed his homework assignment today. We went over similar triangles and the rule of sines when finding a side on a triangle. We also worked on solving quadratic equations along with system of linear equations."
