Tutoring review by Pamela in Old West Side, MI
The student and I are working on absolute value equalities and inequalities. He had a good grasp on the concept and was doing the problems without much help. He is such a joy to tutor. He really puts his whole heart into learning.

Tutoring review by Mihir in Old West Side, MI
This lesson went quite well. I assigned the student some homework from last session. I spent a majority of the time going over solving variable equations, and this time I am confident that he was able to understand a lot of the processes that I was teaching him, and retain it. I was able to work with him and teach him using a different method. I left him with some extra practice that he could go over, just to solidify his base on solving variable equations. I am not too concerned with his progress, and I am looking forward to the next session!

Tutoring review by Kathryn in Old West Side, MI
The student and I covered two sections from the text today. She's still doing very well, these two sections came easy for her because they were more of an expansion of previous sections. The topics covered today were involved systems of equations with subscripted variables. The next session may get a little more difficult because we are returning to graphing.

We covered difference quotient, setup functions based of relationship of variables, find the domain, range, increasing and decreasing intervals of functions. The student understand most of the concepts. She just has minor mistake at computing the number. This is what we will work on in the next session.

Tutoring review by John in Old West Side, MI
The student came through on his last test with a 95%. He will have another test Monday. We worked on the range of materials he is expected to know on the test, which includes adding and subtracting mixed and regular fractions. He did a good job at showing his work during the calculation of the least common denominator and appeared to have no trouble with this level of work. His focus and confidence has gone up a notch, but he also seems more respectful of what it takes to get an "A"--he needs to take his time and question his results. He likes the puzzle-solving aspect of math, so I hope he can live with the less glamorous side of the work. He will be a mathematician if he can do this.
