Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session we went over all the material from the study guide that will be covered during the final exam. We went over: erosion (wind, air, water), the layers of the atmosphere, weather, layers of the earth, water cycle, etc. During the next session we will be focusing on the math portion of the final exam."
"We reviewed the student's study guide for chemistry containing 100+ questions. We were able to review 65 questions mostly pertaining to first semester material. The focus was to strengthen and refresh the student's knowledge of the first semester and she started to show that by the end of the session."
"This session focused on preparing for the final exam. We went over one full exam and about half way through the second. We focused on the problems that he get wrong and the ones that he guessed on. We will continue to review for the final at the next session."
"The student and I discussed oxidation reduction reactions. We first started by reviewing oxidation numbers and the rules associated with these problems. We then talked about half reactions and how to find half reactions for specific chemical equations. At the end of the session, we began to discuss using half reactions to balance equations as well."
"Today the student and I continued preparing for her biology final. For the most of our session she and I worked on monohybrid, dihybrid, and pedigree chart worksheets. The student easily completed the monohybrid cross worksheet and the dihybrid worksheet. She also was able to complete the pedigree worksheet and said she felt much better about all of this material. For the rest of our session, the student and I went over the respiratory system organs and functions."
"We continued to go over aromaticity and other topics related to aromaticity from the first exam. I then gave the student practice problems related to these topics. Next, we started on material from the second test such as carbonyl reduction, Grignard reagents, and ester ring breakage."
