Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Went over practice exams to prepare for test tomorrow. Discussed error approximation of series by using integrals. Continued talking about convergence of positive series and absolute convergence."
"Today the student and I completed her homework on statistics of two groups. She and I also covered the material for her third quiz on hypothesis testing."
"Today the student and I worked on understanding with depth the distributive property, identity property, commutative property, and the associative property."
"In this session, I jumped all over the place testing the student's remembrance of concepts he had previously struggled with. He did a great job. He does still struggle a bit with angles in geometry as well as adding and subtracting negatives, but he got both problems correct after a brief review. Additionally, on all the problems that he solved for me, he wrote his work out neatly and legibly."
"The student wanted to look at two assignments for the coming week. The first assignment dealt with probability and using the formulas for combinations and permutations. The second assignment had a couple of problems that used the combination formula. The rest of the assignment dealt with Pascal's Triangle. The student had little difficulty working through these worksheets. Overall it was a good session."
"Today we went over the student's last quiz. We then spent the rest of the session discussing a worksheet assignment on chapters 11 and 12: null hypothesis testing in conjunction with differences in population means and proportions. Specifically we covered biases in study design, type 1 and 2 errors, interpretation of ramifications of those types of errors, problems using t tables and z tables, and various other smaller points from the chapters. The student seems to understand everything after a little explanation on my part. We cleared up a few misconceptions and I think he should be in great shape for his upcoming exam."
