Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"On Monday, I worked with the student on a review session for his final exam. We began by practicing his oral exam sentences, which were a series of six different sentences. The grammar and word choice of his sentences are good, but he needs to continue practicing and memorize the sentences. We then worked on his study guide, in which I gave him a space to write all grammar points and complete the practice exercises. On Friday, we will finish the review and work on his list of vocabulary words."
"We covered present perfect and past perfect. We reviewed the differences between imperfect, preterite, past perfect, and present perfect, focusing specifically on temporal differences. We briefly discussed conditional and future tenses. We will focus on conversational skills next session."
"We did a lot of examples to practice for the student's test on Monday. The whole session we worked on examples for the present perfect subjunctive and relative pronouns. She got about 90% of all the examples right and when there was a mistake we talked about it along the way. I'm confident she will do really well with her test on Monday based on her performance in our lesson."
"The student wrote out all his charts that he has to know for the exam. He knows most of them, and I will go over the ones that he was not sure of tomorrow evening in our last session before his exam. We reviewed vocabulary and I kept going back to words he had trouble remembering. I suggested that he keep reviewing his study sheet, vocabulary which will build his confidence."
"We spent the entire session preparing for the student's final test tomorrow. He seemed very plugged in to the material. His Latin to English translations were particularly accurate and confident. He now has the review materials for his semester exam, and we will spend our time next week working with that, and with review of vocabulary and forms!"
"We went over a story that he had to translate and discussed the grammar within it. The student did very well. He has an excellent grasp of grammar and is quickly expanding his vocabulary. We also used our extra time to do some vocabulary building techniques."
