Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During today's session, the student and I discussed the concepts of the Cell Cycle, Meiosis, and Genetics."
"We went through all of the material for the midterm exam coming up tomorrow. We discussed cell division and some aspects of genetics, and went through those more in depth."
"We reviewed material for finals, specifically protein structure, dissociation, cancer biology, enzymes and nucleic acids."
"I helped the student review for midterm, specifically covering topics of membrane transport (simple vs facilitated diffusion, active transport, exo/endo/transcytosis), changes in pressure in atria, ventricles, aorta during each phase of cardiac cycle, liver functions (metabolism, plasma protein synthesis, detoxification), and the liver function test. The student appears knowledgeable and confident. She achieved a 95% score on last test on nerve transmission and seems to feel tutoring has helped her focus and develop greater confidence."
"Today the student prepared for his biology final which is this week. We went over prokaryote and eukaryote cells, the different parts of a cell, cell membranes, the cell cycle, and osmosis. He did very well on everything and should be fully prepared for his exam. He is able to pick up things very quickly when someone is able to spend some one-on-one time with him and word the concepts in a way that is easier to grasp."
"This session, we worked on studying and preparing for the upcoming final exam next week. We worked on part of the exam review, going through and talking about each question. The student seemed more thorough and was quite organized about filling out the review. She also mentioned that she thinks she did very well on her test. Next session, we will continue studying for the exam."
