"The student came to me prepared, with a story he had finished from our last session. I was very impressed that it was well written with conjugated verbs and obvious use of a true dictionary for words he did not know. We went over the story to correct minor mistakes, and we played a newly generated version of a game which allowed him to practice recognition, translation, use in a sentence and conjugating verbs to form coherent sentences. He will need these skills for a test he has upcoming tomorrow, but I believe he now feels confident on both counts and I am looking forward to hearing how he did."
"The student has her final exam tomorrow, so I let her decide what to work on. She wanted to work on the use of the preterite vs. imperfect tenses, por and para, and all forms of commands. We did several practice exercises on each topic. She did extremely well. I think she will do great on her exam."
"Yesterday, we reviewed what they learned the first lesson, which was the Spanish phonetic alphabet with associated words. Then, we moved on to the human body parts in Spanish. After a brief presentation, they had a few worksheets to label the various label parts. They started with a very basic one and moved up to high levels. The students did very well. Since one worked faster than the other, I had him work on an exercise on my laptop which is dragging and dropping the various body parts vocabulary to the associated pictures. He was right on target."
