Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the derivatives of the trigonometric functions. We also did some practice with the Power Rule, Product Rule, and Quotient Rule for derivatives."
"We worked together on a cumulative chapter review. She remembered almost everything on it. She took at test last week and got a B on it!"
"We reviewed for the student's quiz that was on Monday. The material covered logarithmic and exponential graphing affecting relationships through transformation."
"We reviewed inequalities and domain and range for a quiz the following day. We also went over homework about carbon and nitrogen cycling for biology."
"Tonight was our first session. Because the student had a test on Friday, we dove straight into techniques of integration and the comparison test. These topics are why I adore calculus 2, and I made sure my enthusiasm came across. I showed her all the tricks I knew, from drawing triangles to obtaining substitutions, to guessing functions that are always greater or less than others to prove convergence or divergence. I think her algebra and trigonometry could use a bit of refreshing, but she definitely has the motivation and is very intelligent in the subject. If she sticks with it and works hard, she will do very well in the class."
"The student worked on her homework and a practice set. She has an quiz on Thursday on the same topic. I have shared my thoughts on how she should approach the exam. I would say she is not so conformable with the subject and needs some practice to catch up. We will work on that in our next session."
