Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered DNA, RNA, Proteins, DNA and RNA structures, the various types of RNA, and DNA replication and it's associated enzymes. We also covered transcription and translation. I saw her last quiz score; she had 81% which was an improvement from her last quiz which was 74%. She does very well on multiple choice questions but struggles with short answer questions. I had her write out answers to short questions so that she can get better at it."
"The student and I went over DNA copying and protein synthesis. We found a video online to help her understand how mRNA, tRNA, and the ribosomes interact. She was working really hard to get it and seemed to really be understanding it. In the last half hour, we reviewed some work converting between different ways of writing an equation for a straight line. She struggles with word problems, so we talked about hints in word problems (any kind of "joiners fee," "upfront cost," etc. is the y-intercept; anything with the word "per" in it is the slope, etc.)."
"We went over the nitrogen cycle, primary and secondary succession, ozone depletion and global warming. We went over each topic in a little more detail than we have had to before and then I questioned him on the material for his quiz."
