Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed the student's speech that is due on Monday, as I wanted to make extra sure that her speech was the correct length in time ( 3-5 minutes), and it was done in a conversational and effective manner. She did well on his previous two speeches, and her test too, so she has a solid "A" in this class right now. We also reviewed some material for the test on Friday. In addition, we did review her Finance answers to a very important assignment that is due. She has some good answers, and did make some additional comments that made her responses even more thorough. We will meet again on Thursday night."
"We covered genetics topics including restriction enzymes and plasmids. The student had to construct a 3D model of restriction enzymes which was confusing at first, but ultimately illustrated a great way to help learn about this process with bacteria. She did well and maintained her patience even when the assignment proved challenging."
"I continued with helping her complete her daily homework assignments. We began with her language arts class. She was required to complete a crossword puzzle worksheet using Greek and Latin roots. Then, she completed her reading class assignment, which was a worksheet on vocabulary from two selected reading passages. Next, we proceeded to her social studies assignment, which was based on a short section from the chapter on ancient Greece. Finally, we worked on her math homework regarding writing of expressions. I instructed her to finish the review worksheet on her own for tomorrow's quiz."
"The student got her science test back; she made a 93%. She completed and checked her math homework, completed notes and a worksheet for history, as well as a science worksheet about the rock cycle."
"The student and I worked on some important study habits for his vocabulary quizzes. Additionally, we are working on organization techniques and ways for him to be more successful at school. I strongly encourage him to bring his agenda home each day and use it to record any assignments due that evening or any long term assignments or tests coming up. The agenda will also serve as a tool to help him be as successful as possible."
"The student and I primarily discussed her math homework, which focused on the greatest common factor and solving problems using partial products. We then worked on English worksheets I brought. The worksheets focused on the subject/predicate relationship, and we covered how to locate the subject and the predicate in a sentence. We also worked on solving wordles and using the solved wordles to complete sentences. We finished by working on an order of operations worksheet and solving problems using the order of operations."
