"We began with a basic introduction to the ACT. I covered differences between the ACT and SAT, how the ACT is scored, and the basic layout of the 4 sections. From his diagnostic, he is at around a 24 for English and 21 for Math, Science, and Reading with a composite of 22. We then moved to a comprehensive review of the English section of ACT. Using the workbook, I went through the various parts of the English test and discussed the various types of questions he might find on the ACT. We then worked through passages IV and V of practice test #1. After English, we worked through some of the problems he missed on the math diagnostic. We'll finish at a later session. For homework he is to do the remainder of the English Section, Passages I and II of Critical Reading, and the essay so we can begin talking about the ACT writing."
"We went over the beginning of the SAT math section. No scores yet, just introduction. The student's main struggle is geometry-type questions. We did some practice problems."
"Math (quadrilaterals, polygons); grammar (verb tenses); and reading (read the next line). Assigned: practice test #9"
