Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed Chapter 5 of her textbook, which included the following: double blind experiments, SRS, Cluster Samples, Matched-Pairs design, and placebos and their effects."
"The student and I worked firstly on prime factoring using the factor tree method. He then applied the factoring method to simplifying or reducing fractions. I had him synthesize his new skills into the skill set we have been developing using long division and changing decimals to fractions. Lastly I transitioned him into basic algebra using the transitive property."
"We covered topics regarding interval domains and ranges. We also worked through practice problems of functions."
"For this session, we worked on finding the area of a solid generated by rotation. We also found the average height of a function. We first determined the logic of these two operations and why we would have to do different integration over different areas. Next the student solved her homework problems that she was assigned in these two subjects. She is showing a remarkable improvement in her integration and differentiation, only pausing when she realized we would have to integrate by parts twice. I will bring more materials along these lines for next time as well as a curious problem we had with an integration."
"The student had expressed a desire to review logs and exponents, so I created a problem set for us to work through. I asked him to finish the problem set so we could get an exact idea on what he was having trouble with."
"Tonight, we reviewed how to do curve sketching of functions and their derivatives. I also reviewed infinity limits and how to easily determine the end behavior of functions. We looked at the student's past test and corrected his mistakes. He showed great improvement."
