"Today we discussed the following topics--- 1. Markovnikov's Rule: During the addition across unsymmetrical double bond, positive part of attacking reagent goes to carbon with more number of hydrogen and negative part goes to carbon with less number of hydrogen. Anti Markovnikov Rule: In the presence of peroxide during addition across the unsymmetrical multiple bond, positive part of attacking reagent goes to carbon with less number of hydrogen. This is applicable ONLY for the addition of HBr and not for HCl, HI, HF and H2O. 3. Remember M.Rule proceeds via carbocation mechanism and A.M.R proceeds via free radical mechanism. 4. Hydroboration Oxidation reaction: Here the substrate is alkene and the attacking reagent is Diborane (BH3) and hydrogen peroxide H2O2. The product is always alcohol and is a Anti Markovnikov product. 5. Ozonolysis: Here the substrate is alkene and attacking reagent is ozone O3/ Zn-H2O. The products can be either two molecules of aldehydes, two molecules of ketones or mixture of both."
