Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"THEOLOGY COURSEWORK: Today, we explored Chapter One by completing the reading, highlighting the definitions and discussing her first assignment for the chapter. The student will complete the first assignment on her own, since it is a drawing, and we will review the material discussed next week. Additionally, we discussed ways to study the upcoming chapters before starting on Chapter two. We analyzed the definitions and looked at the subject headings of chapter 2 to guess what the chapter will discuss. She will browse/read chapters 2 and 3 before our next session, and we will go over the definitions, and decide on the chapter assignments that she will complete for those chapters. I am happy to say that we had a great discussion about chapter one and she has grasped the main concepts of this section."
"This week, I checked in on what we had discussed in Chapter 8 last week, confirming that the student understands the concepts of internal improvements, the growing primacy of federal government and the North/South division that faced the growing nation. We went on to review most of Chapter 9, covering the Age of Jackson-how Andrew Jackson came to power, his policies and the theory of state nullification of federal laws, and his "war" with the Second Bank of the United States. We will discuss Van Buren's presidency next week along with the content of Chapter 10."
"The student emailed 3 pages of her 6 paged essay. We discussed the structure and what more she needed to do. She will go the library to obtain primary sources and read more books about the time period she is writing about. We will meet on Sunday evening to continue discussion on the research paper."
