Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session I reviewed house and interrogative pronoun vocabulary with the boys, as well as going over some emotions and feelings, and fruits and vegetables. I hope that among these words are some the boys might find usable in everyday situations. Remembering the words for feelings allows them to practice Spanish in a variety of situations. In the second half of our lesson, we studied reflexive verbs and indirect and direct object pronouns. This is a difficult subject to manage, and I expect that a good amount of practice will be needed to get it down to an instinctive level."
"Today we reviewed feminine and masculine nouns as well as the articles. The student learned some new words in Spanish and did a great job in the reading. He doesn't struggle but there are sound that we need to practice more as LL, Ñ, G, C and H. We were working with some grammatical rules, orthography and vocabulary. The strategy was to use graphic or visual material that helps him to remember without translating."
"We started working on greetings. The student did very well on this part. After that we worked on irregular verbs and I taught her the difference between Ser/Estar (to Be). This had a bigger difficulty. But this is very normal. It is a hard concept to understand for beginners. Although she did well, she still struggles with pronouns and conjugations in general. The student was more focused in this class, but still needs to work a little more outside the class. I told her to do some flashcards to accelerate her learning of vocabulary."
