Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight I met with the student to continue reviewing in preparation for her history exam. We spent time reviewing the key points from yesterday's review before moving into the new topics. I tried tonight to highlight the links between what we learned last night and what we were discussing tonight, in hopes of helping her to recognize the key themes that run through this period of US history, as well as to help her start to create her own narrative or outline for remembering and understanding it."
"In today's session, the student and I worked on U.S. History and American government. We went over the Constitution in more depth and I explained the U.S. legislative model of a bicameral legislature. We worked on a 1000-word essay on the 27 constitutional amendments. She is showing improvement in her essay-writing and grammar. In preparation for her final exam in history, I plan to suggest she and I make flashcards with important events/key terms for her to review on a daily basis. She is growing more comfortable with American government and how it is set up, however, she needs to work more on U.S. History."
"I reviewed the student's work on her research paper since our last meeting. She emailed me her outline with additions. I emailed her essay structure to help her get started with paragraphs. We discussed how an economy works since her paper resolves on how trains impacted the economy. I emailed her a video on economics 101. We discussed getting primary sources and what they are. I recommended that she go to the library to look for sources."
