"Continued to work on por, para, the preterite, and imperfect. Used lengthy quizzes online to really work on the nuances of these concepts. Made a list of signifier phrases to indicate usage of imperfect or preterite tenses. The student responded quite well to this. The por vs para test forced him to really think about his choices thoroughly before selecting an answer, and he did quite well. I think he is starting to master these concepts."
"In this first session, the student show her study materials to me, so I can plan the lessons according to that. We also talked about Spanish articles and concordance in gender and number with nouns. I also explained some differences in sounds, but we will talk about this more on our next session. During the class we learned some vocabulary and greetings. The student is a fast learner and did not have many problems understanding any of the concepts. She has a really good attitude towards the Spanish language."
"The student and I reviewed weather terms in French, and the various expressions for types of weather. We also went over the months of the year and the names of the seasons. We ended by reviewing vocabulary through an interactive portion of his class website that showed various pictures of students playing different sports. The main concept was to use "jouer à " when discussing sports/games."
