Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over related rates today. We did practice problems as usual and then went on to review his homework worksheet. Some problems were difficult in that we had to find the ratio between radius and height, but we worked through them. He said that his grade is going up. He almost has an A in the class, so I am very happy about that. Finals are coming up, so our next session will be review."
"We spent the majority of our time reviewing the chain rule from last time. The student got an 84 on his exam, which he and his teacher were happy about. We also looked at implicit differentiation and rate of change word problems."
"The student is getting really pumped for his test. Since we have been studying recent material a whole lot, we went for early stuff that he struggled with. The basic forms of derivatives and slopes was a major concern, but he did really well on it. We also worked a great deal on limits."
"We went over more vectors this week. I assigned the student homework on vectors and requested that she do extra practice on derivatives. I think she is understanding the vector material and with more practice she will do very well on her quiz."
"We finished off going over derivatives reviewing product rule, quotient rule and chain rule. We did a few practice problems, practicing the consistent steps used to solve these types of problems. Overall it was a great session and we will pick up with integration tomorrow at 2."
"The student has her final on Tuesday so we just went over problems and concepts that she did not feel completely comfortable with. We quickly moved through every problem once I explained what a question was asking in a more simple way or if we just quickly reviewed a concept. I believe that she has a very clear idea of the vast majority of the concepts and will do very well on her final."
