Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I worked with the students on OLSAT analogies, and also with Student 1 on the mathematical reasoning. Both students were able to explain the relationship between the pictures on the analogy questions. I closed the section with a reading comprehension/characterization activity."
"The session included questions in chemistry that the student had issues with. We looked over questions including ionic equations, calculation of yields for chemical reactions, identifying which reagent is limiting in the reaction and balancing equations. We went over each question the student missed in the exam and the student was comfortable with the answers and corrections after the tutoring session."
"Today we talked about comma rules and went over questions she missed on the practices she did since Monday. The student picks up on new rules and concepts quickly and is very engaged during our sessions. We also did a reading section and discussed ways to annotate for improved comprehension. While she didn't complete the passage and questions within the allotted time, but we modeled how to improve times and practiced annotations."
"The student worked on more math practice problems. She ran into a couple more algebra problems which are still new to her. She is still working on getting the rules down for solving algebra problems. She also ran into a few probability problems and we focused on getting her to set these types of problems up as proportions."
"Handling function plots and the governing equations was the primary focus for algebra. The physics concept of work was also covered, including its abstract definition and some specific applications."
"This week, I reviewed the new grammar and vocabulary with the two younger students. The oldest student went through the workbook exercises for his current lesson, pairing third declension nouns with first and second declension adjectives."
