Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Review was taught on January 25th. Explained basics of phonics (accent, cedilla, etc...) and reviewed basic vocabulary of the class. Started to teach time, starting with a general overview , then going into details."
"We did a final review for each section. The student was able to reach the equivalent of her score goals and complete each section in the allotted time. For reading and science, we again focused on pacing, and with paying attention to the clock, both sections were within time. Because the student has a solid base in English and math, we talked about and practiced applying her knowledge of grammar rules, math principles, etc."
"The student and I reviewed the important concepts from the chapter on trigonometric functions. We chose random problems from sections that were more troublesome, and he worked those problems out. I clarified some things from last week's quiz that he missed, and he seems to understand how to do them now. He tells me he feels ready for the exam tomorrow."
"The student and I worked on her cursive handwriting. She wrote sentences that used all the letters of the alphabet. She continues to improve on her writing and makes fewer mistakes. Additionally, we reviewed math problems that she got wrong on her worksheet. After working through them with her, we worked on similar problems that I made up. She was able to solve them with little trouble."
"Great session with the student. She continues to improve. We read two more leveled readers and discussed the comprehension associated with them. We are working on looking back in the text for text evidence."
"This session, we reviewed the homework assignment from last time, and then we moved on to the student's second project, a craps simulator. She was familiar with random numbers from Python, so it was fairly easy to explain how to do it in C."
