Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over 20 multiple choice questions from a practice AP Calculus exam. The student worked each problem and I checked his work as he went along. He remembered most of the material and did not need too much re-teaching of the big concepts."
"This was our last tutoring session. We covered integrals and u-substitution; we went over the last homework that was assigned to him. He did not struggle with any concept or any of those exercises. I am confident that he now is ready to start Calculus 2; he has improved a lot since we first met in our first tutoring session. He has been one of the most responsible and hard working students I have ever had. It was a pleasure being his tutor for the summer."
"During this session we covered more review material of asymptotes and factoring to simplify algebraic expressions. We also did some new work with synthetic division, which the student really picked up quickly. I was very impressed by the speed he was able to interpret the math and how well he comprehended the concepts. He also did a great job challenging himself to solve problems on his own during the session before going over them together (and he got the correct solution most of the time as well)."
"We continued through the student's summer packet, going through more logarithms, domains, zeroes of functions, trigonometric identities, and more. He needed some demonstration for several problems, but he was able to understand the process after some practice."
"This session we explored unconventional functions and how to manipulate them. I also showed the student some of the programs on her calculator that will make her life much easier in this course in general. I believe that the student will do great in her calculus course as long as she remembers my studying recommendations and not to give up on problems until they are solved or at least attempted."
"We went over more Gaussian Elimination, Inverses, and applied input/output with the graphing calculator."
