Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through her notes and the parts that she was struggling with. I explained them to her and then we went through her exam review questions. I explained the questions that she was struggling with and I walked her through them to make sure she can do them by herself. She is doing well and needs to practice a little more."
"In this session, we reviewed for the Biology course final. We reviewed body systems such as endocrine, neurologic, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal systems. We also made and reviewed diagrams of the GI, GU, skeletal, cardiac, and pulmonary systems. We also drew and labeled a neuron."
"Today was the last session for the student as we continued to review his semester material for his final exam. We went over the long questions that gave him problems so that he better understands how to answer them on the final. We also looked at a few videos for a more clearer description of the kidneys and meiosis vs mitosis. I feel that with some extra study time, he should do fine on his exam."
"The student and I looked at the remainder of the year and mapped out the tasks needed to finish her courses. We spent half the time working on an experiment where she made her own thermometer. The second half of the session was used to finish up her third unit over energy, study for her test, and complete the test. She is excited to be able to finish both geometry and science."
"For our session today, the student and I worked on studying for his upcoming science quizzes involving the circulatory and nervous systems. We began with the circulatory system, which he instantly showed an affinity for. He memorized the multitude of vocab words very quickly and then proceeded to memorize the pathway of the circulatory system with similar ease. We then moved into the nervous system, which had even more terms. He and I built a small vocab map in order to help him memorize all the parts of the nervous system a little easier."
"We covered amino acids, pKas, Ip, net charge at a specific pH, ionizable and polar amino acids, calculating ratios of neutral vs charged amino acid in a solution at a given pH, several practice problems, and tips for doing well in the class."
