Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered time value of money today and solved for present value, future value, and IRR. We also discussed an extra credit assignment revolving around home loan mortgages and inflation."
"For the first session, we covered the basics, and I learned a lot about what the student knew and what he didn't know. We were able to skip a lot of basic interviewing skills because he already knew them, so we went straight into technical questions. He was very well prepared and had memorized the answers very well, he just did not have a full conceptual understanding of the technicals. This was expected because he had not taken a finance class. I left him to study the rest of the section in the technical packet for next week and we will go over in more detail the parts we didn't hit today. He is a very driven and smart student and was very easy to get along with."
"The student and I met to further prepare him for his final exam for his MBA class. We continued to review his homework assignments, which covered WACC, free cash flow, stock and bond evaluations, annuity evaluations, capital structure, and other related fields. We reviewed over 30 example problems, the formulas to get the correct answers, and some overall concepts that supported the numbers. He is very good with Excel, and this was a great way for him to study, get the correct answers, and then be able to save the formula results that will help him for his final. We plan to meet again two more times before his final, probably on Wednesday and Thursday. This was a great session."
