Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered arithmetic versus geometric means and IRR versus adjusted IRR. I also worked with the student on pre-calculus. We covered all of chapter 1 in an effort to review for her test."
"We discussed journal entries for sales tax; reviewed formulas for percentage earnings ratio, earnings per share, return on equity, interest and premium payments for note payables and other liabilities, and declaring cash dividends. As usual, the student understood the concepts practically but had trouble distinguishing one example from the next because he was confused with classification between different accounts and terminology. However, after we discussed it, he felt more confident about it. He understood the financial ratios sections and began second-guessing himself because of their relative simplicity compared with other concepts we reviewed. I reassured him that he understood more than he was aware of."
"1 hour was focused on working together with the student on his extra credit assignment for his class, which was to answer 15 questions centering around annual reports/audits."
"We further reviewed core accounting ratios for the test on Monday. We went down the list, and I asked her to give the proper formula and what the ratio meant. She is progressing well and should be well-prepared for her test on Monday. We also went over revenue management and budgeting."
"We covered the last chapters in the textbook - Chapter 18: Events and Ideas, and Chapter 19: Open-Economy Macroeconomics. We talked about the topics and the student took the self-quizzes, which we reviewed after he completed them."
