"Equation and slope calculations for a straight line Graphing straight lines Approach to math problems Focus on future subjects"
"Problem of the week - symmetry, domain, zeros of natural log graphs HW - Find the equation of the tangent line of a curve at a given point for linear, quadratic, reciprocal, square root functions - Find the equation of the secant line of a curve at a given interval"
"We continued work in techniques of integration. One broad class of techniques involves a change of variable. It is challenging to do this correctly. It must be done meticulously. We reviewed limits, and the Trapezoidal Rule for constructing integrals independent of technique. In addition, the student may investigate some fundamental physics applications to have a richer appreciation of integration beyond situations that can be handled by insightful algebra. He is doing great. I expect that he is going to get an A in Calculus II."
"In today's session, we worked more with law of sines, doing straightforward examples and then some story problem applications of triangulation to determine the distance between two locations. The student has a good grasp of this principle."
"The student had just completed an exam on logarithmic and exponential functions. For today's session, she wanted to preview the next unit on law of sines and law of cosines. We looked at when to use which formula and some applications."
"Today we worked on a study guide for tomorrow's quiz. The student also worked on assigned homework. His study guide involved solving trig functions. He understood the problems very well. The homework also involved trigonometry. He was able to work on the problems successfully. He was full of energy and wanted to learn the material."
