Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Worked on some limit theory, and continuity concepts from left and right. We also worked on finding derivatives using limit theory. The student has shown good progress here. Worked on compartmentalizing problems into constituent parts and reassembling the problem."
"We went over work that covered graphing quadratic functions by finding out vertices and x intercepts."
"We covered adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and simplifying radicals. We also went over how to solve absolute value variable problems and worked on a chemistry review sheet."
"Student 1 and I started by discussing our last session. He recalled the previous material, and he was able to still solve similar problems with no difficulty. He reported that his homework was fine from that section. Student 2 asked that we focus on the material that he had performed poorly on earlier in the semester. We started with some very basic geometry. Though he understood the concepts quickly, I feel that our time would be well-spent with sets of practice problems on each of the types of geography problems in his textbook. We plan to meet during break to finish up assignments and work on reviewing any material that will reappear on the final exam."
"We covered exponents and exponential decay. We worked with the formula V=a(1-r)^t. We then graphed exponential decay and used graphs to estimate value of things after t years. The student has 6 graphs left to do for the homework."
"The student introduced me to a site she has used for math practice at school. We practiced representing multiplication as areas and derived areas of triangles and practiced."
