Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We began the session by discussing the math quiz she had taken during her math class. She confirmed that the quiz covered the concepts that had been on the review worksheet that we had reviewed together the day before. She stated that the last word problem that had been on the quiz was challenging and was not sure if she got the correct answer. Then we reviewed her homework agenda. We reviewed the assignment on literary themes, where she had to compose a short paragraph on what she thought the theme was a brief reading passage and why. After we confirmed that she completed the assignment, I discussed her Family and Consumer Science class with her. I asked her to go to her FACS class during her free study hall periods to work on the sewing project since there is still time remaining to do so. I asked her to send me a copy of her previous math quiz that she showed me earlier in the week so that we could review it for our next session on Saturday."
"We first started out on the student's science homework over continental drift. She did a great job with her reading comprehension over this one! We then moved onto her math homework, which was PEMDAS with variables. She understood everything very well, except she did originally have a bit of trouble with exponents. After we worked through that together, the student read her chapter of Little Women for her enrichment reading. She would occasionally struggle to pronounce some words, but other than that she did a wonderful job with her reading comprehension and inference. It was a great session!"
"We did the student's TRF form first, which used a math problem that we then practiced. We completed that and reviewed her health hw. She had a map quiz coming up (central Africa). When she could not get her school software to work, we improvised and she did very well with visual memorization."
"The student has a test in his Humanities class tomorrow, we he spent today going over his notes and studying for his test. We also made sure that all of his papers had proper headings on them in order to prepare for the binder check this Sunday."
"During this session, the student had to complete two math worksheets; one covered measurements, and the other was a review and covered many basic math concepts like adding, fractions, word problems, standard form, etc. His only difficulty was some of the word problems. He had difficulty comprehending what the question was asking; I assisted him in understanding the questions. Additionally, he had a Science study guide to help prepare for his science exam. We reviewed the information and discussed it to ensure his understanding."
"We outlined the student's history chapter and a paper that is due next week. He has a good attitude towards learning."
