"We finished our review of Han China from our last session as well as began to cover how to write an essay. At the end of the session, I asked her to continue to decipher the documents so we can finish covering how to write the essay in our next session."
"Today we covered material from Chapter 15, regarding state building. The student has been asked to complete the two essays that have been previously assigned to her. I am also sending her a set of multiple choice questions relevant to this material. There were no concerns for this session."
"Today session with the student went well. We mainly focused on her world history class and then we spend the rest of the time talking about colleges and degrees."
"I helped the student review concepts from the age of exploration in Europe. We discussed differences among countries including Spain, Portugal, and France. I then instructed him to go over his reading for homework and take notes on his readings using a strategy his teacher suggested. He seems to have taken to using notes in order to help him retain information as he reads. I also gave him different suggestions for how to take better notes and study for tests. At the end of the session, I spoke to his mom about different strategies and the difficulties he might face in this class. She agreed that he understands the concepts, but he just needs help figuring out how to study and implement new study techniques in an AP class."
"Covered both AP World History and Chemistry in this session. In Chemistry I taught the student how to name formulas, balance formulas, and how to predict what the products of a chemical reaction would be. In AP World History we reviewed the Latin West (chapter 14) and many of the key points in this chapter. She does mostly worksheets during class or they watch videos. I encouraged her to read all the work and textbook thoroughly for this course, try highlighting her text and making flash cards. Additionally, she needs to review her work every evening if only for a few minutes."
"The student and I concluded the content review for the AP exam with Pacific and Contemporary Art. We also spent a little time discussing strategies for the AP exam, including how to use her time wisely, how to outline and respond to questions, and how to use process of elimination on the multiple-choice section."
