Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today with the student we worked on understanding point-slope form. We did several review problems to prepare him for his final exam. We also briefly touched on graphing and how to write the equation in standard form."
"We covered d equals r . t. I went over how to set up charts to fill in information she knew and find the info she did not know. We made some clear notes that she could use during her test. She is very bright and grasped the material well. I hope she did well on the test!"
"The student and I worked on math today. He said he has been having success this month and his grades have been consistently good. He needed help with a homework sheet on exponential growth, so I guided him through it. It included graphing, writing functional model equations, and compound interest. Compound interest was a little difficult for him at first, but after trying a few methods, he started getting it."
"Today, we worked on the homework packet. We practiced ratios and proportions, worked on variables, and then practiced his multiplication tables. We finished by creating a cube from a template."
"The student and I worked on his math homework, which consisted of a factoring worksheet. As usual, he had very little trouble with his math, and seemed to have a good handle on prime factorization. We also worked on his French homework, completing online flashcards for fruits and vegetables. It was a fairly simple assignment, so we had plenty of time to review the pronunciations and spellings of the fruits and vegetables he chose to learn. I also taught him some tricks for remembering whether nouns are masculine or feminine."
"I supervised him through his online exam; he did very well and received an A (no percentage is provided for the examinations). As always his attitude is positive, and he is motivated to do well and finish the course in May. We will begin the next session next week."
