Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Continued applying use of trig functions to both right triangles and non-right triangles via law of cosines, law of sines, and standard trig ratios. He is getting better each time."
"Today we went over the Chapter 3 review and worked on the graphing problems more thoroughly and then began Chapter 4 on matrices, covering the first three sections."
"The student currently has a 97.25% in his class. In a week, we managed to turn this around. I am very proud of him. He says he feels smarter."
"During this session, we went through the student's homework assignment for Wednesday. We covered linear regressions with multiple predictor variables and how to interpret the output from computer generated hypotheses tests for multiple regressions."
"We began to go over the cumulative review, ANOVA, and the first part of the class for the cumulative review. The student has strong knowledge of the first part of the class, and most of our session was spent on ANOVA. We worked on practice problems to help familiarize her with the many parts of an ANOVA test and effect size, explaining why it was done the way it was and what each statistic really means."
"We focused on reading SAS output and how to do a stepwise regression by comparing how we would do a backward elimination and a forward substitution model building method. We talked about how different input variables can affect a model and the p-values of the model and how to run an iterative process to tweak a model. We then talked about hypothesis testing and some formulas that could be used. The student is working on correcting some of the problems, and we plan to talk about that more next time we meet."
