Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We prepared for his final by tackling the hardest problems he could find that were similar to the review packet he was given. He needed very little help relative to his initial exposure to differentiation. His integration skills have noticeably improved even throughout this week. He seems to be in a better place, mentally, to tackle these problems."
"We covered more extensive, branched examples of the product/chain/quotient rules. Overall, the student did a brilliant job with the material."
"We covered the topics of graphing inverse functions and reviewed some basic trigonometry. I have no concerns from this session"
"The student and I met to study for his final exam. We spent time going through the ideas behind integration, which is the last concept covered in his class. The student had trouble describing what an integral is and what it is used for, but could apply the rules well after practice. We finished the review packet we had started last time. The student identified maximum volume problems as his toughest type of question, so we made sure to go over one of these problems in depth. The student discussed his strategies for test-taking and I suggested that he write something for every question, even if he can't come to a complete and correct solution. I also recommended that he draw a picture for all word problems as it helps with the setup. The student will be taking his final exam tomorrow, and today was our last session."
"Overviewed functions, graphs, domain/range, graphing, limits, infinite limits, continuity, and the definition of derivatives. He showed me past quizzes and exams which we talked about. I brought a book that I used in college, because he did not have his own. We also used some past course work from his professor. He was fine with the graphs, limits, continuity, and doing the derivatives. Very receptive and asked questions. But needed some review of trigonometric functions and their derivatives along with how to use/apply a derivative when needed."
"The student and I worked on differentiation including product, quotient and chain rule problems. He is really understanding the material and we will star meeting biweekly."
