Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on the final review: we went over multiplying, dividing, adding, subtracting and reducing fractions with polynomial equations as well as exponents and logarithms."
"The student worked on problems from her Final Exam review sheet. Topics included: synthetic division, long division of polynomials, factoring, the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, leading term test, multiplying rational expressions, dividing rational expressions, adding rational expressions, subtracting rational expressions, and solving rational expressions."
"Completing the square, properties of exponents, changing an exponent problem to a logarithm, properties of logarithms."
"The student has two tests and quizzes coming up this week (tomorrow and Friday). We did a comprehensive review of the material that will be covered on these assessments, including solving equations with logarithmic functions and exponents. We practiced several problems together; then he worked on a few on his own as a quiz. We discussed key steps he needs to practice before his upcoming exams. I will see him next Monday."
"The student has a test later in the week and wanted to meet up for some review. She started learning about different trigonometric identities and how they relate to each other in class. Her teacher will be testing them on these as well as the half-angle, double-angle, and addition/subtraction formulas that they covered previously. She received a lot of review materials, and we spent this session going over one of these worksheets, making sure she could solve every problem on it herself."
"We worked on differential linearization and related rates. I taught strategies similar to word problems in general. I recommended extra practice from the book as necessary."
