Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We began work on the reading section, expanding on techniques introduced last lesson during our SAT overview. The student's vocabulary is decent, and I suggested an online list to study from."
"We studied reading and vocab; grammar (subject and verb agreement). I asked the student to study the words for tomorrow's test."
"The student and I began the session by going over the two sample sections I had left him for homework--one math section and one reading section. He does seem to be very capable of solving math problems. I suggested to him that he should spend more time on the math assignment I gave him to complete this week, which was to answer the questions in a section I marked off in his practice SAT book. After we looked at math, we took a look at the reading packet I left him. I asked him to try the reading comprehension passage while I looked on, and he was able to answer a vast majority of the questions correctly. He is very good at picking up on root words and other clues and linking new vocabulary words to topics he already knows, which will help him improve as he keeps working. We will work to improve his focus and his ability to commit to practicing for solid blocks of time. I assigned him another reading sample section to complete for next week."
