Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we continued working on order of operations. I asked the student to review her multiplication facts for next meeting and I plan to quiz her on them. My plan is to have her use her calculator less during our sessions and build her confidence in math. Many times when I asked her a math problem and told her not to use her calculator she was able to figure it out. I know she can do it!"
"We first worked on the student's most recent homework assignment - using linear functions to solve a real world problem. We then built upon Monday's session, using the rules we established for graphing absolute functions and inequalities to tackle some combination problems. She did a good job graphing the systems of equations and identifying the common solution set. We created a one page review sheet of the two sessions and assigned her a few supplementary problems to attempt on her own this week."
"Completed homework. Reviewed for exam on chapter 3 - relationships of parallel lines and angles, triangles, polygons."
"We finished her semester exam and went back and completed one on the previous quizzes she did not do well in. Overall, once her teacher updates her grades, she should have an A in the class. We completed all of the items for this semester."
"The student has a quiz scheduled for 4/24, so we went over all of the practice test questions from sections 10.1-10.5. She has a great grasp on these subjects, and she is confident going into the quiz. We went over the importance of slowing down because she occasionally makes small mistakes."
"We worked on homework utilizing the quadratic formula. The student seemed to have a good grasp of how to use it by the end."
