Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on parabolas, finding vertexes, focuses, and which way the parabolas open. We also worked on systems of equations. We covered solving for y and x by substitution."
"The student and I continued to move forward with her math, trying to catch up to where she needs to be. She made good progress today."
"The student worked on two review packets for a test tomorrow involving simplifying polynomial terms, complex fractions, and solving polynomial fractions."
"The student is extremely happy with her most recent exam score. She is now learning derivatives and integration of non base exponential functions and logarithmic functions. Today we reviewed her math homework on compound interest. Then we worked through a problem set for derivatives and integration of the concept. She has not learned integration of non base functions, so we reviewed this topic before her class tomorrow. Overall great session. The student's knowledge base of calculus is becoming stronger."
"The student and I worked on review problems for his upcoming exam. The problems dealt with exponents, scientific notation, and interest rate word problems. I brought problems with me, as well as made some problems up for the two of us to go over to make sure he understood all of the material. He seemed comfortable with the review. We reviewed some pointers on taking exams and I feel he will do well."
"The student had a 4-page long assignment about solving linear systems of equations and inequalities. We have started solving on linear systems of equations section, consisting of graphing, elimination, substitution and also solving without using these methods. She has done pretty fantastic work, clean and neat when working on the problems. She was writing each step one by one, with no skip which is very important once she wants to study and refer back to notes, it will be so helpful. After equations we continued on solving linear inequalities and as a closure we have done two writing and solving problems."
