Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I were preparing for her exam tomorrow. We completed a book work assignment that was a comprehensive review of the material on the exam, as well as going back through her notes and creating a new study guide which summarized the information. The exam covers material on DNA and RNA structure, DNA replication, and protein synthesis. She struggled the most with understanding the steps of protein synthesis, and by the end of the session, her only real struggle was remembering the scientists and their contributions to DNA structure. She will continue studying from the guide we created until her exam. She was very proactive about creating a study guide, and really began understanding the processes involved in protein synthesis!"
"The student and I went over her math homework that she was able to do in class, and then she spent the rest of the time on biology homework and reviewing biology concepts for her quiz on Thursday. She seems to be well-prepared, and I think a few more quick review sessions on her own should be sufficient. I plan to see her next week!"
"We reviewed the endocrine, nervous, and immune systems again, this time by going through an online practice test (that her teacher had assigned) together, and then doing some verbal quizzing based on class handouts. We discussed test taking strategy briefly, especially the idea of first eliminating wrong answers on a multiple choice test question if you are unsure of the right answer."
